6 Best Dedicated IP VPNs – Get The Best Static IP For You in …
When you turn on your VPN’s location and identity-masking powers, you’re usually assigned a shared IP address. Another user had the IP before you, and someone else will use it when you log off. If your goal is anonymity, this is usually a perfect scenario.
However, for some online purposes, having a dedicated IP address can save you a lot of hassles.
For instance, if you bank online, logging in from IPs in different countries will (and should) raise alarms. Using the same IP address regularly ensures that your bank won’t lock down your accounts in an effort to protect you.
A dedicated IP address is also ideal for region-based services like online gaming. If you consistently play in the same region, you’ll want an easy, reliable way to connect there.
And in some cases, a dedicated IP can help you access restricted streaming services like Netflix.
So for many reasons, you might want a single IP address you can use repeatedly. But you also want to keep your VPN security and privacy superpowers. Fortunately, there are top-rated VPNs that offer you the best of both worlds.
Best VPNs with Dedicated IPs – Quick List

TorGuard TorGuard operates on a vast scale, with 3, 000 servers in 50 countries, but also has you covered if you prefer to stick to one location with a dedicated IP. Other features include built-in IP/DNS leak protection and Stealth VPN to get past VPN blocks.

What Are the Advantages of a Dedicated IP from Your VPN?
Some online tasks are easier if you access the website from the same apparent location every time you visit. Having a dedicated IP from your VPN provider means you don’t have to give up the safety and privacy of your VPN to get that convenience.
And since it comes from your VPN provider, your unique IP goes along with you wherever you bring your devices – which would not be the case if you were to get a dedicated IP from your ISP. (Not to mention that your ISP would use the dedicated IP to spy on you. )
Here are a few online activities for which a dedicated IP is extremely useful:
Bank computers will flag your activity if you appear to log in from multiple locations in a short time – which will happen if you do your banking through your VPN’s general network.
A VPN dedicated IP won’t identify who you are, but will signal your bank that all logins are coming from the same person at the same location.
Online gaming sessions are region-based, so hopping around through different IPs can disconnect you from your clan or rivals. Your play can also be interrupted by slow speeds caused by multiple “pings” through distant servers.
Logging in from the same IP whenever you play can improve your gaming, but using the IP provided by your ISP could make you and your devices vulnerable to attacks. A dedicated IP from your VPN gives you stable game access and performance with complete anonymity.
Geoblock Bypassing and Video Streaming
For access to geo-restricted services, dedicated IPs are actually a mixed bag. On one hand, services like Netflix that screen for VPNs are less likely to block an IP used by a single person than one used by hundreds of users every month.
On the other hand, if a streaming site does detect and block your VPN dedicated IP, you’re permanently out of luck with regard to accessing the service via that IP.
We therefore recommend that you choose a VPN with a proven track record of unblocking heavily restricted sites like Netflix and the BBC iPlayer via its shared IPs, only using your dedicated IP for streaming when you also need it for other purposes like banking.
If you regularly use remote access for work or school, a dedicated IP from your VPN will making logging in easy, while keeping your identity and data protected from ISP spying, third-party tracking, and cybercriminals.
Running a Personal Blog or Using an FTP Service
A great way to increase your website or blog security is to allow access to your site’s backend only via your dedicated VPN IP. The same is true for FTP services. You’ll still be able to blog anonymously, since the IP cannot be traced to you.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Logging in to websites that require 2FA can be a bit of a drag with shared IP addresses, since the site will think a new person is trying to log in every time. With a dedicated IP, you’ll be all set for a secure and fast login every time you visit.

6 Best VPNs for a Dedicated IP or Static IP – Comparitech
Dynamic IP addresses, which are commonly allocated by Internet Service Providers (ISPs), wifi routers, company networks, and VPNs, can cause you problems. A dedicated IP address or static IP address is often preferred. Find out why and learn about the best VPNs for a static or dedicated IP address.
@VPN_News UPDATED: March 31, 2021
A dynamic IP address system works in such a way that you won’t always be assigned the same IP address. Many ISPs use dynamic IP addresses as it is more efficient (and feasible) than assigning each person a static IP address (one that doesn’t change). The latter might be preferred from a user standpoint in certain situations. A dedicated IP address is a static IP address that is assigned to just one individual and not shared by anyone else.
VPNs also typically use dynamic IP addresses, but some also offer the option of a static IP address or a dedicated IP address. Short for virtual private network, a VPN encrypts your internet traffic and routes it through an intermediary server in a location of your choice. It masks your current IP address and replaces it with a new one from that location. If a VPN gives you a shared static IP address, you’ll get the same one each time you connect to a specific server, but it will be shared with other users. If you get a dedicated IP address, it won’t be shared with anyone else.
Not all VPNs offer the option of static or dedicated IP addresses and not all of those that do are worth the money. In this post, we reveal the best VPNs for a static or dedicated IP address and explain more about the different options and their advantages.
If you just want a quick look at the best VPNs, here they are:

Best VPNs for dedicated and static IP addresses
Here is our list of the five best VPNs for dedicated or static IP addresses:
NordVPN offers shared IP addresses with a limited number of addresses available for each server. The app enables you to choose exactly which server to connect to. The system will allocate you to one of its IP addresses, so even if you consistently connect to the same server, you won’t always get the same IP address.
The standard NordVPN service gives you a shared IP address, so many other users who are connected to the same server will have the same IP address. This situation is no good if you want to receive incoming connections.
You can pay extra to get a dedicated IP address; locations available include the US (four cities), the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands. You can still also use the shared IP service, which has more than 5, 000 servers in 62 countries and you can connect up to six devices to the shared service simultaneously. This is a great VPN for accessing websites that operate cross-border access restrictions, such as Netflix.
NordVPN offers an array of security features and its website has an extensive knowledge base as well as access to 24/7 support via live chat. The VPN apps can be installed on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android devices. There is also a NordVPN browser extension available for Chrome and Firefox.
Seven location options for dedicated IP addresses
Wider shared service that uses a small IP addresses pool
Secure, private service
Good value for money
Huge network of servers spanning 62 countries
Connection to some servers can be slow

CyberGhost recently added a dedicated IP option to its service that users can add for an extra fee. CyberGhost’s dedicated IP is more private than other providers because the company does not know what IP address it has assigned you. Instead, users are given a token. Users redeem the token in their app, which allows you to connect to your dedicated IP with no ties to your CyberGhost account.
The downside to this approach is that you only get one token. If you lose it, you’ll no longer have access to your dedicated IP. You’ll need the token whenever you activate a new CyberGhost app or reinstall an existing app.
CyberGhost users get more than 60 countries to choose from. It meets all of our performance and security standards including strong encryption, leak protection, and a kill switch. It’s great for unblocking region-locked content and speeds are fast enough for HD video streaming. CyberGhost doesn’t store any identifying logs about its users or their online activity.
Token-based dedicated IP is more private than rivals
Great for streaming

User must store and protect their own token

Windscribe doesn’t offer dedicated IP addresses but you can get a static IP address as a paid addon. By upgrading to the static IP service, you are guaranteed to get the same IP address every time you connect to a server, but you will share the IP address with other users.
You cut down the number of the people that you share the VPN service with if you pay for the static IP address extra because you use addresses that are only accessible to those higher plan subscribers. The basic static IP service uses a data center IP address. A higher cost option gives you an IP address that was registered at a residential address — some geo-restricted services will block access to commercial IP addresses.
This is a great service for getting around the regional restrictions operated by some websites and the company has specialist servers for access to US Netflix and UK Netflix.
Windscribe apps are available for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, and CentOS. Extensions are available for Chrome, Firefox, and Opera browsers.

Dynamic and static IP addresses explained
On a typical residential internet service, you don’t get the same IP address every time you connect. Instead, your Internet Service Provider (ISP) will allocate you an address from a pool that it owns. This system was invented to slow down the exhaustion of IPv4 addresses. The assumption is that the number of ISP customers that are connected at any one time is always lower than the total number of customers. Thus, the ISP can get away with owning fewer addresses by using a dynamic addressing system.
ISPs don’t usually use this system for commercial customers, particularly for those customers that run their own web servers. This is because the advertised IP address that is registered in DNS servers gets linked to the URL used for the company’s website. In these scenarios, the company would have to update every DNS server in the world whenever the ISP allocated a different address to the company’s connection service. This would be too complicated, so companies usually get a dedicated IP address for their web servers.
Many VPNs also assign dynamic IP addresses. Usually, VPN services own a small number of addresses for each of their servers. They allocate groups of customers at random to each of the addresses that they own as users connect. Some VPN services offer static IP addresses, by default or as an option.
A shared static IP address VPN service has advantages over the standard dynamic IP service. Where a static IP address is an optional addon, these addresses will tend to get less use than their dynamic counterparts. You might still have your internet freedom impaired owing to the actions of the other people sharing that IP address, but with fewer users sharing, the likelihood of that address ending up on a blacklist is going to be reduced.
The shared static IP address model is offered as standard on NordVPN’s service. This configuration doesn’t really give you many advantages over the dynamic IP address system offered by other VPNs. The only extra protection that you get from such a configuration is that if that one shared VIP address gets blacklisted, all of the customers of NordVPN are going to be crippled, so it is more likely that the company will change that address pretty quickly.
Many VPN companies refuse to offer dedicated IP addresses. This is because they are concerned with protecting the identities of their customers. Even if a VPN company didn’t keep IP address logs, a one-to-one mapping between a representative dedicated IP address and a customer can be uncovered very quickly through customer account details if anyone gets a court order for the VPN’s records. Any type of shared address formula enables the VPN provider a chance of blocking the traceability of connections through to the end user.
Dedicated IP addresses and their advantages
A dedicated IP address is not shared and is only assigned to one customer. There are various scenarios where a dedicated IP address might be useful, for example, for running a business or gaming.
Not everyone is looking for total anonymity. In particular, those who want their servers to be discovered don’t want privacy. The dedicated IP address is the quickest, cheapest, and easiest way to overcome the effects of the dynamic address allocation system that ISPs use.
With a dedicated IP address VPN, you can front your small business web server with a larger server that is capable of absorbing DDoS attacks and you can use a much cheaper residential internet service plan.
Privacy-conscious individuals can use the VPN as an address for a home games server and also get a fixed IP address that will enable them to connect to home computers running as file servers. With a dedicated IP address service, you can advertise your home server’s address without the worry of that address being changed periodically.

Why You Need a Static IP for Gaming – PureVPN Blog
Before we dive into the use of a static IP for online gaming, we need to understand the concept of an IP address and its types.
Since each device connected to the Internet has its own has IP (Internet Protocol) address, you can conveniently send and receive data from other devices and servers.
An IP address is issued to you by your Internet service provider (ISP). Normally, ISPs issue their users with two kinds of IP addresses:
Static IP addresses – remains the same
Dynamic IP addresses – changes periodically
What is a Static IP?
A static Internet Protocol (IP) address (static IP address) is a permanent number assigned to a computer by an Internet service provider (ISP).
Static IP addresses are useful for gaming, website hosting, or Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services. Speed and reliability are key advantages. Because a static address is constant, systems with static IP addresses are vulnerable to increased security risks which is why you need a Static IP VPN.
Avoid glitches and lags whenever you play online
Use PureVPN’s dedicated IP add-on to embrace a smooth gaming experience, avoid DDOS attacks, and prevent lagging for as low as $0. 99.
A static IP address is also known as a fixed address. This means that a computer with an assigned static IP address uses the same IP address when connecting to the Internet.
Another good thing about a static IP is that when you make a temporary game server with your friends, you just have to remember your IP and tell it to your friends and not have to waste time looking for your IP.
Common Difference Between a Static IP and Dynamic IP
The most common difference between Static and Dynamic IP is that you are assigned an IP address on a Static IP, so when your ISP provided modem/wireless device comes online or is reset, it always gets the same WAN IP address.
Dynamic means that you will have a WAN IP address for a period of time and depending on what your ISPs policy is, when your modem/wireless device is reset or rebooted, the IP address may change to something else as they may set a lease time frame on IP addresses that are Dynamic.

Will a Static IP Improve My Gaming Experience?
A Static IP address is renowned amongst the hosting and gaming community for the very reason that it offers a seamless internet experience. You don’t have to worry about your IP being blacklisted just because of someone else.
Since you are the sole owner and user of that particular IP, you can customize it to however you deem necessary. However, having a static IP in comparison to a dynamic IP (with everything else being equal) will not increase or decrease network performance.
Learn why you need a static IP for security cameras.
Quite often Static IP’s come with business packages whereas most home packages come with dynamic IPs, and in some countries such as the UK and USA, business packages tend to get greater priority across the central networks so pings are better and data transfer is higher.
If you’ve upgraded your package to one with a static IP, it might come with extra benefits such as higher priority but it’s no guarantee (check with your ISP first), and some ISP’s do offer changes from dynamic IP’s with static ones without changing the package in which case you’ll see no benefit at all.
When it comes to gaming, a static IP address is preferred for a dedicated internet connection that isn’t interrupted nor influenced by other user’s online activities. Since online gaming is a rejoice activity, the last thing you want is to experience network issues commonly faced by Dynamic IP users.
