Sadly, I’ve been doing some research and with the new tumblr asks, I cannot find any way to track the IP address but you can block the IP address from sending any more anon messages to your inbox. So if you are getting anon hate or say someone is taking advantage of your triggers, this is how you block an anon’s IP address, it’s simple and actually a tumblr feature:1. Go to the message in the inbox and press the three grey dots in the corner of the message. 2. Press the block button3. Click the blue ‘Block’ and this will block and anonymous messages from that IP address from getting sent to your inbox. You can still get sent messages from the actual account but not! You have now blocked that IP address from sending you anon messages. It’s not a perfect fix but it’s something. I hope this helps someone out there!

Go to Block and then tap on Block… on iOS or the + if you are using Android.
Choose either Block website or Block IP Address.
Based on your previous choice, enter the URL or IP Address you wish to block. Please note that the full domain name is required for websites. For example; make sure to write “” instead of “youtube”.

Blocking a Website at a Person or Device Level
Navigate to the desired person or device.
Tap on Manage security events at the bottom of the page.
Choose either Block Website or Block IP Address.
Enter the URL or IP Address you wish to block and tap the checkmark to save. For example; make sure to write “” instead of “youtube”.
Please remember that a website blocked for a person will automatically be blocked on all the devices assigned to that person.
