Because this protocol is designed so that the location of any digital device connected to the internet can be pinpointed and distinguished from another, IP addresses enable devices to send and receive data from one another.
Considering their importance, let’s take a closer look at what an IP address is, what its purpose is, and how to find yours below.
What is an IP address?
An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a unique label assigned to websites and servers as well as digital devices, including computers, printers, modems, routers, and other smart devices.
