Nighthawk Pro Gaming routers are able to prioritize traffic for online games however some game manufacturers encrypt their traffic and as result, this prevents those games from having their traffic properly prioritized. To utilize Traffic Prioritization for the League of Legends (LoL) game you will need to manually add the rules instead of using ‘DumaOS Classified Games’ or a preset LoL service.
The League of Legends game uses the following ports:
5000 – 5500 UDP (League of Legends Game Client)
8393 – 8400 TCP (Patcher and Maestro)
2099 TCP ()
5222 – 5223 TCP ()
80 TCP (HTTP Connections)
443 TCP (HTTPS Connections)
8088 UDP and TCP (Spectator Mode)
To add these ports to Traffic Prioritization please follow the instructions below:
In the address field of your browser, type Login using your admin username and password.
Go to QoS Page.
Scroll down to Traffic Prioritization
Click ‘Add Device’ and select the PC you want to prioritize League of Legends on then click ‘Next’
Click ‘Advanced’ at the top of the box
(For this tutorial do not change any source ports, we will only be changing the destination ports and protocol. )
Then under Destination Port enter the following:
Start – 5000
End – 5500
Then select UDP from the dropdown list and click done.
The port has successfully been added to Traffic Prioritization and will be prioritized on that PC.
Repeat steps 3-6 for the remaining ports in the list.

League of Legends offers the following styles of gameplay.
Games that are considered action are all about centering the player in the middle of an evolving situation.
In a real time strategy game multiple players are fighting for control of a battlefield, usually in a top down view. RTS games can also be in a 3rd person or isometric viewpoint. They tend to involve time and resource management as well as troop and building construction.
Strategy games tend to focus on planning and skillful thinking in order to beat either real players or bots. They can be either real-time in which the play clock ticks continuously or turn-based where each player has a dedicated turn to finish their action. It is not uncommon to include exploration and resource management.
Port Forward League of Legends
When you are playing League of Legends you might need to forward some ports in your router. Forwarding ports is a useful trick in gaming because it can really help to make your network connection most stable and intermittently even faster. Routers were not designed to allow incoming network requests and some games can play tremendously better if an incoming connection is forwarded through the router to the game.
Before You Forward a Port
Before you can forward a port you need to know the following things:
The IP address of your network router.
The IP address of the device that the game will play on: either your computer or your console.
The TCP and UDP ports that need to be forwarded.
How to locate your Router’s IP Address
The easiest way to locate your router’s IP address is to run our free Router Detector utility. It’s a part of the Network Utilities suite of tools and it’s completely free to use.
How To Forward Ports
Most people use our Network Utilities software package to forward ports. It’s the easiest way to forward ports when you need them and then close them when you do not. You can also do it by hand.
The general process for forwarding a port is:
Open a web browser and navigate to your router’s IP address.
Find your routers port forwarding section.
Put the IP address of your computer or gaming console in the correct box in your router.
Put the TCP and UDP ports for your game in the matching boxes in your router.
Intermittently you have to reboot your router for the changes to take effect.
Which Ports Does League of Legends Require
The incoming ports that need to be forwarded for League of Legends are as follows:
League of Legends – PC
TCP: 2099, 5222-5223, 8088, 8393-8400
UDP: 5000-5500, 8088

Not really but it depends how you look at it. If you do not set the port forwarding rules the ping will be timeout.
The port forwarding is simply a port translation. The router in effect edits that packet but it is so fast you can not measure it. Ping times in a proper functioning network is pretty much a measure of distance based on the speed of light. Of course the fiber does not go directly and there is overhead as it passes through routers but primarily it is a distance thing.

No, port forwarding is for inbound connections. Game pings are outbound traffic.
#3
Ok, so does port forwarding decrease the time of getting an inbound connection?
#5
So if i fully understand you… the longer the distance the better results from port forwarding will be(even though they are hardly measurable)?
#6
No port forwarding is a fixed amount of overhead. It is based on cpu clock speed. It is likely. 001ms or less.
The distance is your ping time it does not matter if you have port forwarding on or not.
