If you can’t redeem a Netflix gift card, try the following steps for the error message or issue you are experiencing.
‘The code you entered has already been used’
If you see a message that the code you entered has already been used, it typically indicates that the card has already been redeemed on an account. Check your Billing Details to see if the gift card balance was applied. If you do not see the gift card balance on your account, please contact us.
‘The code entered is not valid’
If you see a message that your code is invalid, it typically indicates there was an issue with the code you entered. Double-check the code and try entering it again.

You can use Netflix gift cards to pay for Netflix or to give as a gift. Netflix gift cards can be purchased at various retail locations and online.
Gift cards do not expire, which is printed on the back of each card.
Gift cards are non-refundable. Once a Netflix gift card is applied to an account, you can watch Netflix until the gift card balance runs out.
Gift cards cannot be reloaded.
Netflix DVD gift cards are no longer sold, but can still be redeemed in the United States.

Find the code by scratching the foil off the back of your card gently with a coin.
If you have a digital gift card, the code is on the email.
If you have a code on receipt, the code is on your receipt.
Enter the code and select the Redeem button.
Enter the email address associated with your account, or to create a new account.
A confirmation screen will appear, then you can Start Watching or Start Membership.
Note:
If you have a Streaming account and a DVD account, your gift balance will be applied to your Streaming bill first, then to DVD. You will need another payment method on file to cover the difference.

You can use a gift card purchased in a different country as long as the gift card is in the same currency as your Netflix bill.
Check your gift card balance
To check the balance on your Netflix gift card, go to

Unless you have another payment method on file, you can watch Netflix until the entire amount on the gift card is used. We’ll remind you when the balance is getting low.
If you want to keep watching Netflix, simply add another gift card or payment method before your balance runs out.
If you change plans, it will change the rate at which the available balance is used.
If you cancel your account, you can keep watching Netflix until your gift card balance runs out. Gift cards are non-refundable.
Once you’ve redeemed your gift card, you can check your available balance any time on your Billing Details page.

Release an account hold with a gift card
Follow the steps to redeem your Netflix gift card.
If the gift card amount does not cover the cost for a full month of your current plan, we will prorate the account for the number of days it covers.
Once you redeem the gift card, it can take up to 60 minutes for the hold to be removed.
