All you need to do is sign out of the account you’re currently using, go to the Registration page – opens in new window or tab, and follow the steps above to create a new account.
Be aware that you can’t use more than one account for activity related to the same listing. For example, you can’t bid on the same item from multiple accounts or bid on an item you’re selling from another account. You can find out more in our Multiple accounts policy.
If you want to move an email address from one eBay account to another, you’ll need to remove it from the first account and wait 60 days before you can add that email address to a different account. Learn how to change your email address.
Listing Items on Separate eBay Accounts – The Balance Small …
According to eBay’s official rules, sellers can have multiple selling accounts. They can be used simultaneously, and there are several reasons and benefits to maintaining separate accounts or stores. There are also policies in place that sellers should be aware of should they decide to set up multiple accounts.
The Advantages of Having Multiple Accounts
Listing items separately allows sellers to organize items more efficiently. For example, if someone specializes in clothing, she may want one account for that and a separate account for everything else. Or, a seller may want to separate items purchased for resale from their own personal items.
Compartmentalizing the bookkeeping can also be advantageous. Keeping the accounting separate makes it easier to track sales, profitability, and expenses, more than if all the merchandise was commingled.
Having a backup store can also be useful for sellers to help keep business going if one account receives too much negative feedback in a short period of time. This sort of thing can happen with eBay’s detailed seller ratings (DSRs), a review system in which buyers are able to rate the seller specifically for the benefit of other buyers, and buyer feedback is critical to a seller’s success.
eBay’s Multiple Account Policy
Though selling using multiple accounts is allowed, there are some important things to understand about eBay and the use of multiple accounts:
Identification Must Be Separate: Each eBay account must have a unique seller ID and email address.
Cross-Referencing Isn’t Permitted: Under eBay rules, sellers may not cross-reference their accounts in listings, meaning sellers may not promote one store using another account. Sellers may link to items or categories within the same store or on the same account.
Multiple Accounts Are Not a Suspension Remedy: If you’ve been suspended, don’t simply register a new account in hopes of getting back into business. This is why you should establish a second account before you ever get into trouble. eBay’s proprietary systems and data are very good at linking related accounts together, and you’ll find that your new account is quickly also suspended if the problems with your old account haven’t been resolved. Registering a new account during an existing suspension as a knee-jerk reaction will get you into more trouble than trying to resolve the issues on your one existing account.

What you need to know about closing your account
When you submit a request to close your account, we’ll send an email to your registered email address and to your eBay Messages within 24 hours letting you know we’ve received it. Generally, it takes 30 days to close an account from the date we receive a request. However, if you’ve bought or sold items in the 30 days prior to submitting your request, we’ll keep your account open for 60 days from receiving your request so any outstanding sales or purchases can be completed, and so we can meet our commitments to all buyers and sellers under the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
After the 30-day or 60-day period (depending on whether you’ve bought or sold in the past 30 days) your account will be permanently closed and your data will be deleted. If you change your mind and decide to keep your account, you have 7 days from the account closure to request that your account be reopened. We can reopen your account only if it was in good standing when you closed it.
Personal data on closed accounts
The right to have your personal data (including personal information) deleted depends on the privacy regulations in place which vary by country and region. The General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) identifies the right to have your personal data deleted, this right is known as the “right to erasure”. At eBay, we extend the right to delete your data to all users, regardless of a country or region’s regulation.
When you send a request to close your account, your personal data will also be deleted as long as your account is in good standing.
eBay deletes personal data using approved methods such as encryption, pseudonymisation and aggregation. For your part, you’ll need to clear cache, cookies and history from each browser you used to sign in to your eBay account. If you downloaded any eBay apps on any of your mobile devices, you’ll need to delete those too.
Unless you’ve reconsidered and would like to keep your account, and as long as your account is in good standing and none of the exceptions listed below apply, your account will be closed and your data will be deleted within 30 to 60 days of receiving your request. To keep your account, your account must have been in good standing at the time your closure request was submitted. Suspended or restricted user accounts will be closed, and we’re unable to allow you to reopen the account.
When we’ve closed your account we’ll let you know by sending an email to your registered email address. If you’d like to use eBay again, you’ll need to create a new account.
