Mask My IP is a simple application that helps you protect your real identity online. It does that by letting you hide your real IP address which is not only unique and can trace back to you from any terminal, but also depicts your geographical location. It hides your IP address and replaces it with a fake IP. You can even choose the location from where you want to fake IP to be, but that’s only possible in the full, purchased version of Mask My IP and not in the free trial edition.
Mask My IP comes with a very simple and straightforward interface. There’s nothing complicated about using this neat application. Even complete beginners can use it without any problem. With one single simple button press you can activate or de-activate the hiding of your IP address. Moreover, this neat tool can change the IP when working with any of the following web browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Opera.
Unfortunately, when it comes to its reliability, testing this tool didn’t exactly show optimal results. Whenever I was activating the IP hiding, all the Internet access was getting blocked because of some proxy server settings that refused the needed connections. That’s not exactly how it was supposed to work. I don’t know if this failure happens only for me, but I sure now have my doubts about its reliability. Anyway, trying it is free, so you can go ahead and check for yourself if this tool suits your needs and works as expected.
