How to succeed in flipping sneakers?: stockx – Reddit

Hey y’all, I am currently 15 years old and want to get into flipping shoes for a little bit of money. I don’t know too much about this, all I know is that you can get new sneakers on the SNKR’s app and the app you should use is StockX. However, it would help a lot if these questions were answered from you guys:Where can you buy new sneakers that come out if you don’t get them on the SNKR’s app. (I know you can go to footlocker and stuff like that but how can I check to see if the store actually has the shoe) long is shipping on SNKR’s app? What is the chance of me actually getting the shoe on the SNKR’s app? If I cop a shoe on the SNKRs app should I then go into StockX and go to the highest price in the size I have and sell it or should I wait for the shoe to actually arrive before selling it? (IDK if this makes sense. )How much profit do you make a month off of sneaker flipping? Is going to Marshalls and other locations with below retail priced shoes worth it to flip? Any other helpful tips I should know of about sneaker flipping would be much appreciated too:D.

I don’t think shoes are a wise investment to make any real money. I’ve been into sneakers since the mid 2000s and have seen a cycle where fads come and go rapidly. Many sneaker prices hit a high around release, give or take a month or a few, then slowly depreciate over time, unless it’s a (very) rare shoe. Many sneakers are mass produced and it’s a very fickle market. Over time, sneakers themselves also physically deteriorate, probably not for a while, but generally older ~ rarer, and the more wearable an older shoe is, the more valuable it is. For shoes like Jordans, the brand tends to rerelease certain models periodically, which lowers the stock of what might have been rare before. Nike does this too. But it’s great for people for want a chance at certain models from long ago. For quick flips on current limited releases (for which then, there’s a lot of competition), you can probably net a profit of under a hundred bucks to maybe several hundred if you hit a home run (which, doesn’t happen too often). And sometimes, your item may never sell (at the price you wish). You also have to consider shipping costs, selling fees (on eBay), etc. I just think your time is better spent learning other things. But if you’re really into shoes and like wearing a good variety, go for it. I think that a lot of the time, shoes make an outfit. There’s an entire culture behind it, it’s worth a dive, find out what you like.
