Can anyone recommend solutions to having a static IP address with a high upload, i. e. 50Mb (for replication) without extortiante fees of 30, 000 aed a month? level 1We have an old Du package with a static IP. We pay around 1500aed/month for 80/15. They won’t let us upgrade to faster speeds and keep the static IP, it will always be dynamic if we change. They said if we want static you have to take a managed line, I never inquired about the cost as they said it was a lot more expensive. * Leasing a single static IP address provides an IP address to be used by your modem. If you need to assign an IP address to a device behind your modem, you will need to lease a block of IPs.
When you lease a static IPv4 address, those addresses have ‘derived IPv6’ addresses associated to them, so there is no need to order anything else. But, you will need to enable IPv6 on your modem.
Customers with a dynamic IP address cannot turn off port 25 filtering.

The lease on static IP addresses continues until you either choose to delete them from your account, or until you cancel your CenturyLink internet service.

Note that moving or upgrading your service will usually require a change to your static IP address.

Reboot your modem by unplugging the power cord and waiting for 3 minutes.
Plug the power cord back into your modem, then watch for the internet light to turn green.

This means that when your computer connects to the Internet, it uses one of any number of IP addresses, so that each time you connect to the Internet, you end up with a different IP address. When you purchase a static IP address, you connect to the Internet with the same IP address every time. This can be beneficial for a number of reasons, including if you’re using a Virtual Private Network for secure access to files from your business’s network computer. Select the device you’re going to use with your static IP. Your options typically include your router, computer or modem. Find the MAC address of the device you selected. Your router’s MAC address can usually be found on a sticker on the device, and if it’s not on your modem’s label, your Internet Service Provider should have the MAC address for your modem. Click “Start, ” type “cmd” into the search box and press “Enter” to bring up the DOS command prompt in order to find your computer’s MAC address. Type “ipconfig/all” into the command prompt and press “Enter. ” Look for the text that says “Physical Address, ” then copy the numbers and letters that appear directly to the right of that text, as this is your computer’s MAC address.
